What is VGM?

VGM is a computer code developed to enable engineers of various fields to generate and alter a physical representation of a fluid passing over an object. By encompassing an object with a region (in three dimensions) or a volume of ordered points (i.e. 100 points along the object, 100 points around the object and 100 points from the object's surface to an area away from the object where the fluid is undisturbed), computations can be done to analyze the effects the object has on the surrounding fluid; hence Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

The VGM code is a language comprised of various commands that can be used to alter existing grid data or generate new data based on existing data, and it runs on any computer architecture that uses standard ANSI-Fortran 77. The VGM code is available to any citizen of the United States of America, and the requesting organization or individual must reside within the borders of the United States of America. To request a Free copy of the VGM code, contact James Godsey The VGM code is Restricted software according to the Arms Export Control Act (Title 22, U.S.C., Sec 2751, et seq.) and The Export Administration Act of 1979, as amended, Title 50, U.S.C., App. 2401, et seq. Violations of these export laws are subject to severe criminal penalties.
